Inspired by Calcutta’s Malik Ghat flower market, one of the oldest and the largest in India, photographer Ken Hartmann photographed floral vendors with their wares in front of the Hooghly River. From garlands of marigolds, to gigantic bunches of mango leaves, to small handfuls of jasmine and sunflowers, these gorgeous blooms and blossoms play a huge part in Indian rituals, festivals and weddings and provide the livelihood to thousands of sellers.
